    Unbranded DVB-S2 receiver

My DVB-S2 receiver box produces backup files with a ssu extension. Can anyone recommend suitable PC software to edit channel list and favourites titles etc.?

These files are associated with Microsoft System Management Server, and it seems are generally regarded as been obsolete.
You should do a G....e search and have a read. I think you will have difficulty finding a program to open them.

Aren't .ssu extensions to do with the Spiderbox 6000HD?
Check the Spiderbox 6000 section, as I think there's a channel editor.

Yes there is a channel editor for the spiderbox 6000, but will that channel editor work with the " Unbranded DVB-S2 receiver ", maybe that is another name for a Clone.

Ahh! not familiar with the Spiderbox 6000. I just did a G....e search to find a program to open them, and I had not trawled down
far enough to see the satpimps post, all of the earlier posts give the info I posted. Mea Culpa.

    Thanks for your responses guys.

I downloaded and tried the 6000 Channel Editor, but unfortunately it won't open the generated ssu file - it says that the file size is not correct.

The box is quite possibly a clone, but a clone of what? Could it be identified by the CPU which is NT78304SE?

My box has has a similar spec to this one and the same size, but the front panel on mine has the display in the middle, five push-buttons on the right and a USB socket on the left (also a USB port on the back).

My box system info page indicates Model: E1 French.

If software upgrade is possible by USB disk, then where are the appropriate files?

it might be worth trying to load @ Catseye E2 Latest list onto a USB Stick and then trying to that channel list via USB Stick in the box
somewhere in box menu should have an option to load Via USB ...Thats normally how it works with those China E2 mass produced boxes ..
you can find @ Catetseye latest E2 Channel lists Here => https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthrea...hlight=CATSEYE

im sure its quite Similar to Loading a channel list on SKY BOX F3/4/5 Etc.. same Garbage !!

The Catseye lists don't seem to be in the right format. My box only accepts and generates files with a ssu file extension.

I also have a Skybox F5 receiver that works OK and channel lists etc. for that can be altered on a PC using a Alieditor.

" If software upgrade is possible by USB disk, then where are the appropriate files? "

If your receiver is in fact a Clone, then it is highly unlikely that you will find the requested files on this forum, as it does not support Clones.

How can I tell if the receiver is a Clone and a clone of what?

It seems that most Chinese STB manufacturers and suppliers mention in their specifications that upgrade can be done by USB disk, but they don't mention where the files are located.

Actually I'm not looking for files at this time, just a user_db.ssu Channel List editor.

The only answer that anyone on here can give you would be for you to try G o o g l e, and give some of the info that you have posted here, and see what info you can get from your search(s)
