    Dumb question what does this do is it a replacement os

    It's just a web browser I think, but including it has added VP9 codec support so 4k videos from youtube now work

    There's chromium and chromium o/s. Both open source.

    chromium is like a cut down browser and I suppose it could be say its big brother is google chrome. Our development team used elements of chromium within their code to allow certain browser functionaility.

    To be honest I don't know much about the o/s side of it though
