    Vu+ Solo2 Default ftp & telnet user & password?

    Hi all,

    I just received a Vu+ Solo2 from Goldwafers. Tried BH3.0 and ATV5.1 but cant get ftp or telnet access. Any ideas what the default user and pass are for ftp and telnet? Tried all the ususal suspects using dcc and VuCC with no luck so far. Obviously I am missing the obvious :-)

    Cheers.

    Have you read the following info and link:

    use a fixed ip address ideally so the box remains on the same local LAN ip all the time

    then use VuCC 0.8 (or later) or DCC to telnet to the box and type passwd (press return) to change the password from the default or blank one to one of your choice

    more info on setting a password in this thread

    ie:- setting a password on a VU box (or any linux box)

    Check the IP address you are entering in VuCC is correct. You'll find the box IP address in the Solo2's Network menu under Adapter Settings.

    The password box should be left empty unless you have assigned a new password to the box yourself.

    Username: root

    Using a fixed ip address and all basic functions are working fine. Network connection is working and I can ping the box. I just cant get ftp and telnet access with either of the images I have tried. I have used different tools to ftp the box but no access.

    Just check the other settings in your ftp proggie.
    Using FileZilla on all of my sat boxes, I have the following settings.....

    Host = The (fixed) IP address of the sat box that you want to talk to (i.e 192.168.X.X)
    Port = Blank (no port number entered)
    Protocol = FTP
    Encryption = Use explicit FTP over TLS if available
    Logon type = Normal
    User = root
    Password = Blank (no password entered)

    Hope that helps,
    Merry Christmas.

    It looks like a PC problem. Got access now with filezilla on a MAC and everything is working fine. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

    Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
