    VU+ Solo crashing

    Hi everyone,
Last year I posted about my Solo keeps crashing all the time. Ifound with help from you Guys and elsewhere it was the skin causing the problem.
Now after I interupted the power supply it has started doing it again. I have tried different images and cams and cannot stop it crashing.
Has anyone got any advice please on maybe a basic image with no bells and whistles and the best cam?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jules.

I have left the cam off and box has not crashed. I think I need to find the corect version that suits it maybe?
    Thanks.

Looks like you have a problem with the skin you are using:

    Code:
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/ActionMap.py", line 48, in action
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/InfoBarGenerics.py", line 2376, in showExtensionSelection
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/InfoBarGenerics.py", line 2372, in updateExtensions
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/InfoBarGenerics.py", line 2328, in getCCcamInfo
Use a new image - and don't change the skin.

try not to switch your box of with the power switch at the back, use the telnet command,

    killall -9 enigma2

as many have said it can corrupt the image, thank you.

I have a Vu+ Uno with the latest Openvix on it. Only extra stuff I put on is CCCAM (2.3 I think) plus the Sly HD skin. It's rock solid.

Maybe try an image such as Openvix just with CCCAM and see how you get on. Then start adding components such as the skin

Thanks for all your help Guys, I have installed Blue Sly HD skin, so far so good. I should know within the day if successful.
    Thanks again.

Wipe your box - remove your hard drive, install a basic image - don't add any plugins or skins, just scan for channels. Watch some FTA for a while. If your box doesn't crash after a while (maybe a day or two), it's not going to be a hardware problem with your box - it's something that you are installing. If the box does crash - the chances are that it is overheating (make sure you have good airflow around the box), or has another hardware fault.

that is an extremely old one (from 2012)

when you are more confident , try open BH and then maybe install bh215 and openvix on a usb stick in the multiboot option within openBH

ideally , with BH you want one beginning with a 2, so say 215 , not 1.7.2 (if you decide against using openBH)

Hi Guys, all still working, looking good!
Another little problem if you can help please?
I was using Remote channel stream converter on the last firmware which was Vix.
Now I have installed it again with BH, I have downloaded channels from my other box but when I look at the channels they are all not accessable (not highlighted).
Can anyone help me get this going again please?

    Thanks,
    Jules.

no idea what that is but as I said earlier you should be using an image starting with a 2 , preferably one made within the last 1 or 2 years, it does not surprise me at all if modern files dont work on old images which is where I think your problem lies, especially if you try to make vix plugins work in BH

openBH or BH 215 or 216 are good recent BH images

Does the VU+ Solo require extended memory, on a USB stick, for later versions of Black Hole, or was that for another version?

Hi echelon, thanks again. It is running fine now so I think your correct I should try a newer version.
Mickha, I am using my HDD as extended memory at the moment.
