Using the Technomate 5402 M3 for receiving Intelsat 907

    Hi guys,

As I live on the Costa del Sol during the winter months I rely on the satback services on Intelsat 907 for my UK freeview services.

I am about to swap out my ailing Icecrypt for a new Technomate 5402 M3. I have pre-loaded the latest phantom patch, and selected the correct satellite/transpoder in the Satellite Setup part of the menu, but can anyone advise on the procedure for when I connect the receiver to my antenna?

Do I need to manually enter all the channels, or can I do a blind scan? Do I need to enter the BISS code for each channel, or just once as all the channels are on the same multiplex?

    Any advice appreciated

    Cheers

    Wibs

Once the receiver is patched you can just scan the 1 transponder that holds the BBC Satback channels, No point in a blind scan as there is little else on there.

Enter the BISS key in any slot you like on the 8280 menu and yes you will have to add the BISS key for each channel on there, which basically means if you say enter the BISS key on line no.1 then when you change channel enter 8280 move to line 1 and then press exit and save job done do this for each channel

Blimey, is it really that easy now mate - no need to load VPIDs, APIDS, etc etc a la XXXXXX?

    Thanks for the advice guys.

The Icecrypt was even easier. A blind scan loaded all the channels, with their various PIDs, then in the secret menu just enter the BISS key once and ALL channels are then unlocked

In fact its even easier. Just patch the box. (Patch 139) Then do a scan with the feed option turned on. You get 30 channels. All of them have a clear discription of the channel except film 4 + 1 which is listed with a title of "29". You can then use the edit channel menu to delete the data channels STVHD etc and rename 29 as film4 and you are done. Current BISS is included in the patch. Technomate 5402 M3

Hi, I'm permanently in Portugal, recently got the same box for the same reason. After much messing about installing Technomate patches, I now have the BISS menu, entered the latest BISS codes and it works. Now, any hints as to how to get a live EPG? There isn't one on this satellite. I still have an old Panasonic box pointed at Astra 2e and so I can VIEW an EPG there, see what's on and then switch back to the Technomate box...but it means that scheduled recordings on the Technomate via an EPG are still a thing of dreams. Yes I know that I could probably set a timed recording on the Technomate...reminds me of using a VCR 20 years ago. Any help would be appreciated please!

hi binsley, i am thinking of buying the same technomate you have for the 27.5w reception, can you confirm it can record the freeview services on this sat ?

Hi sorry for the slow reply. It records a live programme just fine to a USB stick, and you can pause and rewind etc. Still haven't braved a timed recording (I was still hoping for a solution re. an EPG!) but the manual says it's possible.

Hi, I am on the Costa Del Sol too. I have a Technomate 5402 which a friend has 'patched' and set-up for me. However I cannot access Channel 5 or Film 4+1. I have entered 8280 on both channels and all the codes appear full?
When I looked on-line for the codes I get the following:-
    CHANNEL 5HD 17728 6401HD 6402 6400 6401
    CHANNEL FILM 4+1 20352 7501 7502 7500
The codes on the box don't look anything like this, can anyone help please?
