Lost in a new spiderbox 6000 (2015 model)

I bought a spiderbox 6000 from Goldwafers this week and set it up, because i have access to Hotbird and Astra 1, 2 and 3 to watch Belgian TV. I receive all these scrambled channels although I expected them open for one years gift. I contacted Goldwafer and was told by Lee to contact a forum.

Besides not knowing what to do or what to get to unscramble channels, i don't even know on which channel I can see some English football which I was used to see for years on DSTV in South Africa.

Can somebody help me please.

goldwafers cannot tell you how to watch scrambled channels , that would be illegal, nor can they sell a patched box either for the same reason (maybe the laws in South Africa are different?) - here in the UK the "live" premiership matches are almost always on scrambled channels that need valid subscriptions , so unless you find a free "feed" its usually not possible to watch them without non-valid processes, which we dont discuss on the forums

I assume this is a new 2015 spiderbox 6000

if so, you need to patch it with the latest mscam patch and follow the instructions for activating the patch (turn on the 12 months free "gift") so you can access the channels that the "gift" gives you (whatever they may be)

read the sticky threads at the top of this spiderbox 6000 forum, at least one tells you how to patch the box etc

also check the tutorials and guides in the SPIDERBOX GUIDES and FAQ SECTION too

Ridiculous problem!
When I try to download the patch from the spiderbox firmware with my laptop, i don't get in, instead get a message that I am not logged in, no matter how often I log in. When I do this from my Ipad, i get in, no problem, but I have to do it with my laptop to be able to put the file on a stick.
Is someone able to give me advice, please. Thanks in advance!

your laptop needs to accept the cookies, so make sure you have ticked the little box REMEMBER ME when you log into satpimps on your laptop or on a pc with your username and password

then try again, using firefox or opera or a similar web browser

if this still fails , log out , input the name and password, tick the REMEMBER ME box and then login again, to get a new cookie

no cookie means you are not "logged in"

then try to download that mscam firmware again

My S/W upgrade screen does not show the .rar (patch file) although it is on the stick, but it shows the .ssu file which is also on the stick. So I don't know how to run the patch

.rar is a file extension, for Winrar, a compression software, like Winzip, it shrinks the files, making it smaller, for upload, and download, you uncompress the files, using Winzip, Winrar, or other, like 7-zip, to get the files you need.
You then load this file on your USB stick then onto your receiver.

Follow the Spiderbox stickies and load the .ssu file.

I always unpack, usually with 7zip

boxes dont want or need rar or zip files, so must always be unpacked before using them

on a 6000 you need the file as a .ssu

on other boxes other suffixes are used

they are not interested in any files that end in .rar or .zip

Sorry to bother, but I would like to know how to open the .ssu file to change the mscam code. Does one use a file viewer?

I managed to figure it out!
Sorry, for all the trouble but my generation was born with paper tape on a Honeywell terminal hooked to a mainframe, grow up on floppy disks , only up to .zip files.

you wont be able to open .ssu files so dont even bother to try

files like those need the developers toolkit and possibly passcodes in order to alter them, consider it a closed , unknown file

use it to patch your box by all means, same with the softcam and channel lists too, but other than that leave well alone

I have 'plodded ' along with new systems and eventually mastered the patching of Spiderbox 6000HD.
Patch ran out early this year and as summer is now over thinking seriously of next move.
I have just found V***** site .
Is it true if I donate I can get an IKS patch which should run on my 'old' 6000HD ?
