    Changing motorised system

    Hi

    I have a VU + Duo

I would like to know if I can put this on another motor system

Would I need to do a complete scan

Or do a factory reset for each system

    Many thanks in advance

Ps sorry again if this is not on the right thread

you can connect it to any motor using usals or diseqc v1.2 and it will work without any alterations, except if its some distance away you may need to alter the usals (gps position) to suit its new location

nothing else would need altering, its as portable as you like , no rescanning , no starting from scratch , nothing at all

however, if this new motor was a 36 volt type then a vbox2 would be needed and the vbox positions adding for each sat

Snipe Automatic Flat Portable Satellite Antenna

I would like to know if it will upset the setting in the Snipe

The snipe looks like a stand alone satellite antenna, which doesn't interact with a receiver.
From the description it has 9 fixed satellite positions, 42E, 28.2E, 23.5E, 19.2E, 13E, 5E, 0.8W, 5W, and 30W, plus you can add 3 others. It finds the satellite using a GPS, and you select a satellite using the remote control.
All you need to do is select the corresponding satellite, on your VU+ Duo, after the Snipe has located the satellite, and you should be able to view the available channels.
It states it can provide the equivalent of a 60cm dish, which isn't a lot, especially for some of the satellites, and that's if the blurb is accurate.

Many thanks again Mickha for your reply

What I would to know is what would happen if

I put the VU on the Snipe and did a satellite search

Would I be able to get the same setup to work on the main dish

The Snipe I use in my caravan so you see I would like to use it in both home and van

Leave your channels, on your receiver, as they currently are.
Use your Snipe, to lock on a suitable satellite, then select the appropriate channels, in your VU+ receiver, once the satellite is locked.
You might get the satellite moving signal, until it locks the frequency, but this should only be for a second.
I would make a channel list backup, on your PC, usimg dreamboxedit, then you can add/remove channels, in your bouquets, using your receiver, while on your travels, and quickly return to normal, on your return.
