    What would you recomend

My SB 6000 hd has died on me and i need your help on ideas for a new box .Since my health has started to go down hill ,i've lost track a bit of the scene . I'n not wanting an all singing all dancing box , just a box that is hd and i can use lines on via wifi or Vonets and is easy to update/ use ( as i'm on morphine and not as fast thinking as i was ) iptv would be nice but not a must .Any help would be great full .Thanks in advance .

VU would be best at the moment but not from what you have said above

so another spider 6000 if Lee gets any more stock in, or its up and coming replacement (whatever that is)

VU SOLO 2 or VU ZERO are ideal but not for those who dont like getting their hands dirty

for the basic owner or beginner, you just could not beat a spiderbox 6000 !!

Cheers echelon .I'm well up on linux due to pc's but never used a linux box . I'd love to get my mitts dirty ( that was the fun of it before i became ill ) ,but alas not easy on morphine as you can imagine .I'll keep my eye's open on lee's and will see what pops up .Again cheers.

Maybe you would like to tell members what has caused your spiderbox 6000 to die, as it maybe possible to reactivate your receiver with the spiderbox 6000 recovery tool, unless of course you have already tried that and it still did not work.

Thanks Aldo .What happened was it stopped picking up any signal , all of a sudden i lost channels ,checked the signal on the box and both lines vanished ,at 1st i thought it was the lnb or coax , so put a sky box on and as i was on 28 deg at the time and that had no problems with 97% signal strength . The box lights up ,shows channel list ,just not pulling in a signal .

If you are used to linux pc's you can handle a Vu Box no problem you already have the knowledge.

On the spiderbox try a factory reset

You'd be hard pressed to beat those already mentioned in post #2 & if your budget stretches give the Vu+ Duo2 a good look as well.

That could be because you do not have any Sat positions stored, to determine this if you can, go to Menu -> Satellite Settings , and check that there is a tick next to all the Sat positions that you are able to receive channels from, and as cannydo has stated you have nothing to lose and every to gain by trying the recovery tool and it can be found here:

I was in mid viewing as it went Aldo . I have tried the recovery tool and no joy , about 20 mins ago connected it to the 28 deg fixed dish and still no signal bars :( .loved my little spider . Everything works but no signal bars and the black screen with ' no signal ' .
