Cannot factory reset

all,Last week I was doing a patch change,I went thru the procedure until I came to factory reset the four 0's in the code window ,I clicked on the 0's and the box exited on the fourth 0 ( I could click three only ) on clicking the fourth it exited,I can not change or add Patch I have tried several times since then but no joy,any help would be appreciated

Have just factory reset mine...after clicking on factory settings...a put password prompt comes up
default password is 4 x 0...0000...after pressing the 4th 0 a box appears saying factory default click yes or no
so i assume you are not getting the factory default pop up coming up
if you are not getting the factory default pop up...it would seem like aldo is saying...recovery tool required
