    BBC red button 28E

    Hi All, I am trying to get some BBC red button in Spain on 28E, , lyngsat & KofS say that its on the Europe Ku beam which I can get. I don't however get any signal for the RED button TP 12422 GHz H on either a Sky HD box or a BLADE 7000s. Does anybody have any ideas ?

    Thanks in advance

    Mate of mine in Malaga has 1.4 dish and he says no signal for bbc red button either.
    Maybe sat info is incorrect and is astra f uk beam as would make sense.

    Hi Manic thanks for your reply I guess this must be the most plausable explanation, I also now know that upgrading to a 1.4 metre dish will not help . Cheers

    Yes, I may retune to see if there are any new red buttons, Its weird that they transmit Film4 plus 1 and not Film 4 on 27W as I guess its pretty easy to make Film 4 into Film 4 plus 1 with some kind of buffer but of course impossible to do the reverse!

    The main BBC red-button channel is on 28.2E (10773 H) which is on the UK spot beam.

    There are currently Red-button channels on 12422 H 27500
    RB2
    RB3
    6804
    6805
    6806
    all showing the moving logo RB screen

    plus

    RB HD (DVB-S but MP4 like the Japanese News channel) which my setup can't resolve as it clears the VPID to 0 ).

    I guess they will be in use for Wimbledon though.

    Persevere with the BLADE as I have a feeling in my water that Sky boxes may have a hidden black list for some transponders.

    Just to add to my post above, here are the full details for BBC RB2:
    12422 H 27500 2/3
    VPID: 5100
    PCR: 5100
    APID: 5101
    SID: 6802
    PMT: 256
    TID: 2037
    NIT: 2

    just in case your box needs them to be entered manually.

    Jusrt did some playing about with an Amstrad HD Digibox that has a basic entertainment sub (but not the HD addition).

    The following are now on the Sly EPG:

    980 RB HD (showing a Wimbledon promo)
    981 RB1 ( bits of CBeebies)
    982 RB2 (moving logo RB screen)
    983 RB3 (moving logo RB screen)
    --- 6804 (moving logo RB screen) }
    --- 6805 (moving logo RB screen) } add channels
    --- 6806 (moving logo RB screen) }

    So Dave, if you can get the pan European beam they should be available.
    Should point out that I'm normally OK within the UK spot beam so you need someone else in Spain to give you a signal strength report.

    Tried a few things. My signal strength seems ok I can even get well the North europe beam 1.2 M dish southern Spain near Malaga ( For Channel 4 Ireland with sly subscription ). When I try to add the tp 12422 the TM5402 says this Tp already exists but when I scan the tp list on sat setup the nearest tp is at 12418 but showing no signal. When I do a blind scan I don't get the red buttons but strangely I get BBC olympics channel, not scrambled, good signal but can't open it 11428 H apid vpid 8191. I would be grateful for any ideas thanks in advance

    I am in the same boat, I am quite near to you close to Granada.
    I can get all of the european beams over 80% quality 14-17db on a Gibertini 1.5 with Black Ultra lnb I can even get a good signal on an old 90cm on a motor, but nothing on 12422 so like you I am a bit baffled because I cant see any reason why we cant get it. I use Vu boxes with my own channel list.

    If I have any success I will post.

    Are they scanning in?
    if you can't see them listed, on your receiver, check that they haven't scanned in as data channels, using dreamboxedit, changing them to TV, and uploading your newly changed list, is quite easy.

    Don't know whether this will help you?
    On my TM 5402 M3 I had to "Add Channel" manually (under "Channel menu") entering transponder, Channel name, video PID, Audio PID, PCR PID, Video type and Audio type - and save - after that it worked. (King of Sats has all the details)
    Please tell us how you get on.

    No they are not scanning in. Already checked with DREAMBOXedit, nothing. Also checked with the Satcatcher meter no lock nothing.

    Just tried manually scanning them in and they scan in fine, although 3 of them scan in as 6804, 6805, and 6806, or something similar, and the other 3 as BBC Red Button 2, red button 3, and red button HD.
    Scanning in 12422 H 27500 DVB-S
    Currently running Black Hole 2.15
    but I am in the UK.

    Yup that is what I get in N. Europe. Remember a Sly digibox or a Freesat box accesses the extra RB channels via a sub menu (blue button) which is why they don't all have names.

    @dave1234

    All six red button channels now up and running transmitting different matches from Wimbledon.
    If you haven't yet managed to get them scanned in then try again now.
