Technomate 5402 M3 - how to work with genuine UPC Hungary card?

Dear all (and hope the moderators won't mind)

Newbie here! Any help gratefully received.

My genuine UPC Hungary card (Thor 0.8W) doesn't seem to work with either the Technomate 5402 M3 multicard reader or a with a re-installed CAM taken from an old humax 5400 (where the card continues to work without an issue - I just wanted a quicker satellite receiver).

It's a fixed dish and the technomate does show the available FTA channels and all it states is "$ scrambled channel" with the remaining channels.

Looking at the net I've downloaded the latest Phantom patch (which is showing in the menu) - 1.26p (22/12/14). But with no success. (H/W 1.0, Boot 2.9, CH: F021) .

I know the card works as the Technomate recognises it's a cryptoworks card from the menu settings.

Any ideas as to how to get the technomate to work with this card?

Maybe there's a clash with the softcam in the TM. See what happens if you use the TM's original firmware. I don't have the M3 but 2004 toggles the M2's on/off.
