    Patching & Tuner Sensitivity ?

    Hi Everyone.

Have a question that someone may know the answer to.

Does patching a TM receiver make the tuner any less sensitive that using standard software ?

The reason I ask is because I have a 7102HD & like feed hunting.
I wouldn't like to patch if I thought it made the tuner any less sensitive for feed hunting.
Perhaps I would be better off getting a 5014HD or something else, use that for feed hunting & keep the 7102HD for general viewing ?

Like many I am also a member on other forums so don't be surprised if you see this question elsewhere.

    Tony.

All the patch does is add extra functionality to the receiver such as the CAS menu and BISS key section, As TM do not actually support these very often afterwards in an official capacity anyway you will find that the Patched software carries on and can fix issues that relate to official problems, The same can also be said the other way around.

The thing is with the patched software if it does not do what you want it to do then you just go back to official firmware.

    Thanks digicon.
The reason I asked was because I think I read somewhere of certain patches reducing tuner sensitivity.
The model in question was the 5402 I think & I wondered if the same would apply to the 7102 ?

Must admit I was under the impression that a patch CAN be programmed to increase tuner sensitivity, but I may be mistaken!
