Vu+ Duo now only working on FTA channels

    Hi,

My box has been running fine for about 6 months on both paid and FTA channels. I finished work yesterday and went to use the box and only FTA channels are working. I re scanned all channels and again nothing is working other than FTA.

I've checked all the obvious things rebooted box, checked connection - my knowledge is limited albeit I do have a basic grasp. I appreciate this is probably a 'how long is a piece of string' question but really not sure what to do next.

More than happy to pay someone to sort but living in Devon I'm very limited.

    I'm running Vix image 3.0

    Any suggestions appreciated.

So you were at one time able to view encrypted channels?

How did you do that? What method did you use?

My guess is that you are using a payserver and they have either stopped your service or are down for maintenance.
If this has anything to do with 28.2E you might already know that all HD channels are now secure.
As dog-man has asked you need to supply more information, without breaking the rules.

check your emu ( cccam ? ) is working and connected

check your router admin panel shows the vu as conencted with an ip address

ping the vu from your pc or laptop using a command prompt and ensure you get an answer back

check your box can access the net by some other means, like youtube or news or weather

Sometimes a software update can delete your cccam.cfg file.

Is it still there and the contents correct?

have you tried restarting your cam? (If it is the same as a Pli image, blue button and select cam then restart cam.

Have to tested your network settings in menu /system / network?

Just complete a network test from the box Lan, local, dhcp, ip, name server all show as ok ?

    Will try ping test shortly.

It's really strange, one channel just started working for a bit 5mins now all off again ??!!

In that case it is probably the server supplying you.

Email them telling them there may be a problem.

Often a reboot is needed after a server has been running for a long time.

No idea what so ever !

When I came down this morning the dog had managed to turn the TV on by sitting on the controller, he obviously decided to reprogram the box at the same time.......lol !

Can't be that as there has been no updates for ViX 3.0 for some ten plus months, plus the image feeds for all ViX images from ViX 3.0 down were deleted months ago, all he will be able to access feeds wise is the Image manager to download new images from the openvix servers.
