Have you made sure that your router is set to DHCP - i.e. to allocate IP addresses?

Are you selecting wired connection ?
Use right arrow to change between Wireless - 3G - Wired connection

... And I think that it's happending coz of using different ip ( like one in wired connection and other on wireless connection ) . The only solution I have find is : go to the factory setting and reset all settings . It's a bit long way but it works fine after that .

Is there any chance you can test the cable you are using on another device? YOu could try and connect a laptop or other device( see if it works on them to rule out a faulty cable or the modem itself)..
From personal experience I can vouch that the Ethernet works well providing that other hardware requirements are met (router capable of such connection/ cable of good quality) The box is ready to accept the connection without any hucus pocus (All you have to do is to select WIRED in the settings)

I have only ever used my spider by ethernet cable
for me was plug in..my router auto connected to spider
    so has other members suggest...
try your cable on a laptop or other device to rule out its not the actual cable you are using..thats stopping the connection
    hope you sort it

    Hi
    Thanks for all the replies
Tried a different cable and tested it on my laptop works fine but still my Spider will not connect via cable
could it be a faulty box?

A faulty box of any make it is possible to have faulty connection...
if this was my box...my next step would be,make sure i have loaded the correct patchs...in the correct order
    and rebooted between each patch...
check that my router settings were correct...check that the box was set to wired connection...
after doing all this...and it still not connecting i would borrow a box from a friend any ip satalite box...just to see that ,that box was connecting
if that box connected to my router...with all the same settings...i would then say i have a faulty box...faulty ethernet connection
    hope you sort it

If you can receive the FTA Channels with your receiver, then the receiver is not faulty, it has to be your ethernet connection or leads to the receiver, please try that and see what results you get.
