checking those support forums it seems both SONY and the BBC are aware of the issue but no fix listed as yet

on 09 june 2014 this was issued by the BBC

The BBC Announcement page is now stating:

    "
Sony - Smart televisions and Blu-ray players

    *** 9 June 2014 ***

We are aware that some users are experiencing problems accessing iPlayer on Sony Televisions and Blu-ray players.

We've raised this issue with our Service Partner to investigate and will update this FAQ when we have further information.
there does not seem to be any recent firmware updates for these 2010 models of tv that I can see

they also seem to think it includes sony blu-ray players now as well , its also been "down" for over a week

my old bravia firmware update is listed as march 2013 so definitely no new firmwares to use on any thumb drives

my newer bravia has one listed as june 2014 but doesnt say if its for iplayer or not (or for some other issue)

clealry you should keep your eye on those sticky threads about this problem on the sony support forums as its either sony or the bbc that will have to fix it

in may there was a repeat fault of the epg corruption that caused the RDR dvd recorders to lock up (same as july 2013) and the epg provider was at fault , not sony

so in this case I would say the fault lies with the BBC or their software provider due to those recent iplayer changes where they havent done enough beta testing and bravia 2010 owners have lost out (for now)

check it again when the BBC or SONY report the issue as "fixed"

Until you are able to see the app on your smart tv working, i think you can access it via the red button on your tv remote.

No problem with my Bravia on BBC iPlayer. It did do an update a couple of days ago though.

The problem with mine is that it can't access ITV due to some licensing conflict that Sony won't fix.
