    Mobile phone use in Spain?

My daughter goes to Spain on holiday on Sunday and has asked if I know the best and cheapest way to keep in touch.
There are issues going on in the family at the moment.

I have told her to just use text as a call would be expensive.

Is there anything else she could consider?

If you both have access to wifi use Viber - it's free for voice calls.

If you have ipad/G3/4 phones then you can use "Facetime" which is free and as stated loads of places have free WiFi

    She has a Samsung android.

I have installed viber for her and it looks like it will do the job.

If all she needs is voice then roaming shouldn't be that bad. It's capped at around €0.30 per minute.

All the carriers have special offers for traveling abroad packaging voice and data for a few € a day.

For more then a couple of days buy a Spanish SIM on arrival.
