    spiderbox 6000 no signal

ive recently got a 6000 to replace the 9000 which has been faultless,on the 6000 with some transponders on 13e i get no signal intermittently, signal strength is 78%,quality is 65%,is the 6000 a weaker tuner than a 9000 or am i on the edge of the satellite footprint at 56.5 n,im using a 1.2 dish and hh120 mount,
it has to be a dish issue if its no signal, scrambled channel would be a box/connection issue
things ive done to try a cure so far is
replaced cable between motor and dish
adjusted the dish every way possible,i get a signal on 30w and 42 east so it must be tracking right,

could the dish and lnb be out of alignment? and how do i check that
    any pointers appreciated

is that the skew of the lnb,it hasnt been altered since it was put up,i aways thought it had to be vertical, might be worth tilting it and moving back and forth in the holder

should be no skew when on the zero point of the motor, so when the dish and lnb are pointing due south of you

Move the DECT Phone as far away as possible from the receiver, and see if that helps.

Just having read through your post quickly? The only thing that comes to mind is the lnb? Did someone once say if you could not get the vertical or the horizontal then the lnb was on it's way out or had failed? Reason I say that is the two transponders in question are V and H ?
So question would be are you getting same results with other H or V transponders?
If it works ok on other STB then maybe a weaker tuner in the 6000 is dropping the vertical on that frequency?
(that's the only thing I had or have lol)

    Edit
    12034/ 29900/ V and 12054/ 29900/ H
    you could compare that with
    12073/ 29900/ V and 12092/ 29900/ H
Or others (just a stab in the dark lol)
    hope you get it sorted

One other thing you can check?
In satellite settings check what your LNB is set to? Normally it's 9750/10600 but can be 5150.

I did not mention before because I checked that it was not the case on me last post. (downloaded 13E from editor and a reset check)
However last night I downloaded all sat's from the channel editor and 13E was set to 5150 among others.

Thought this was worth a quick mention.

thanks hianta, its on 9750/10600,and showing these % tonight, it was working no problem last night, doesnt half do your head in when its inconsistent

    12034/ 29900/ V and 12054/ 29900/ H
    nothing and 79% 60%
    12073/ 29900/ V and 12092/ 29900/ H
    79% 64% and 79% 63%

when its stops raining im going to try another lnb and renew the cable between lnb and motor, and adjust the dish again if that doesnt solve it, its a box of matches.
wouldnt be a faulty box would it

I'm coming close to total renewal including motor so not much fun. :o10: If you could? Try another box on your system. This would let you and us know If it's just a weak tuner that at fault? OR Indeed the Lnb that's at fault?
Think your trying for (link without hoop lol hoop://www.lyngsat.com/Eutelsat-Hot-Bird-13B-13C-13D.html

    footprint for 12034 V = wide

    h00p://www.lyngsat-maps.com/footprints/Eutelsat-Hot-Bird-13B-Wide.html
So If in foot then it's system (Lnb, dish..... or weak tuner?)

sorry if completely wrong lol (but I'm getting this OK at 58.2)

    Hi turbospud,
as you are getting a signal, from other frequencies, on both polarities, then your LNB seems to be working.
You have provided limited information, regarding your general location, 56.5N.
Can you please check your Latitude, and longitude, on dishpointer.com, as your signal readings seem low, considering you are using a 1.2M dish, but this depends on your general location.
As you have added a new receiver you might want to re-align your dish/motor, by sending the motor to zero and starting from scratch.
If using USALS then send your dish to your nearest, available, true south satellite, this equates to your longitude reading, a negative reading = West, positive = East, e.g. a longitude of -1.876 is approximately 1.9W which would make Thor at 1W a reasonable satellite to align your dish to.
As you have a 1.2M dish are you using a 36V motor?
Can you please check other frequencies, to see if you are experiencing any problems, including 2 FTA channels:
    TV Disco, 13E, 11642 H 27500 and Sport 1 Germany, 19.2E, 12480 V 27500

I could understand the problem if it was most channels, on one polarity, as this could be a loose connection, water ingress, or a failing LNB, but as it seems to be only 1 frequency this points more to a faulty channel list and might be fixed by simply deleting the channel and manually re-scanning it in.

    hi mickha
56.5,3 deg west is the location, using a stab hh120 motor on usals.
    disco is 79% and 63%
no signal on sport 1,this will properly work when i try it later,
using a channel list from here 6000-11-26.ssu,i have tried deleting and reloading
as you say the quality seems low,im sure i had nearer 80% with the 9000,im starting to think that the lnb isnt seeing everything from the dish as i have adjusted it every way and cant get better
thanks for all the suggestions so far

Hi turbospud my last thoughts on this are just from your last post? You don't say what channel list your using as I presume that the 6000-11-26.ssu is referring to the patch your using?
So depending on what channel list your using have you tried a manual scan of the TP your having trouble with and checked the result from that scan? (could be your just needing to scan those channels back into the box) good luck....

Ok thanks. The only channel list I could find that looked like that was Spiderbox 6000HD IKS Motorised List 07-11-2013
I loaded It and checked out channels on 12034/ 29900/ V . Results were a lot of glitch on 13E and only uno+1 had No signal. Strength on average 82% Quality on average 66%

I'm using an old wobbly 1.1m (I think) dish. (NW UK )
This may not tell you what is wrong If anything but will give you a comparison?

Given your location, which I think is in Scotland, and your 1.2M dish, I would expect you to get near 98% signal quality, for the Sky Italy channels you mentioned, at least on your old 9000HD, depending on the weather.
You could try nudging your dish, to peak the signal, using your receivers menu options.
