My sons earphone socket broke off inside his Sony Xperia tipo phone, it is a contract phone still under warranty so i took it back to explain to the carphone warehouse. They opened the back of the phone up and told me there was water in the phone as there was a red dot and it should be white, i said the phone was working perfectly apart from the earphone socket. The bottom line is they said if i sent it away it probably will not be repaired under the warranty now. I have tried some dry rice (not cooked) in a sealed bag with the phone for a couple of days to try drying or clearing the red dot of water but as yet it has not worked!!
Any advise much appreciated
