Hi has anyone out there got a box that is a twin tuner and is a suitable swap for an actual skybox for the wife to record her crappy programmes on? Done my research but was hoping for a good recomendation. cheers

As per the title of this thread, i guess the best would be the latest VU series of twin tuners such as the Solo2 or Duo2.
    Certainly not the cheapest mind.

those are the best value boxes on sale at the moment to do as you ask, you want quality you pay for quality (you want cheap look somewhere else because we do not support the cheap rubbish stuff on this forum)

If you can live without a second tuner get a SPiderbox 6000 from our sponsors. YOu can hook up the hard drive to record and it also takes a cline and nline. But if you want a proper twin tuner with all the bells and whistles then the VU is the one to go for, but it aint cheap (still worth its weight in gold)

It's a matter of opinion as to what is considered 'best'.

However, as others have already said you'd be hard pushed to beat any of the VU products as they are generally and technically considered to be the best.

If a twin tuner is what you are after why not consider the original VU Duo or perhaps an Uno with a twin tuner installed? Both are perfectly able to deliver what you are after.

I will always buy VU+ as the support is second to none from all the image developers, and the hardware is solid and well tested over time. But I do think you are paying top price.

Have a look at the twin tuner enigma2 offerings from the Technomate & Gigablue ranges for a cheaper buy. They do the job and have some good comments from their users.
