    f 100

just been hit with a blank spiderbox hd 9000 never came across this before. looked at the spiderbox posts and see this has happened to other people the front panel says f 100. i have had my spiderbox a few years now and i see there is a tool that may fix it. the usb serial adaptor i have is for xp and i am now using windows 7.
what i am trying to say is it worth the hassle, was thinking of going ahead and buying the new 6000 any thoughts on this.

if I were to try repairing it I would use an xp pc or laptop and use a proper serial port, not a usb adapter

if the tool works the box can be fixed and then brought up to 2012 or 2013 firmwares once more

if it were me I would do it as detailed above as it costs nothing to try it, but I wouldnt try it in win7 unless it was win7 pro or ult

the 6000 is good value due to the extras and warranty

so you pays your money and takes your choice

not with my old HP laptop its not, it has xp and an onboard serial port and works just fine doing this task and many others too

so does my old HP desktop too, works fine on serial programming for sat boxes , cable boxes , routers and various other items too
