Internet protocol television (iptv) is television services which are delivered using the Internet rather than the usual method of aerial or sat dish.
there are 3 main categories of iptv:
1. Live TV Streams
2. Video On Demand (vod)
3. Catch up TV

No one knows but new stb's are incorporating both.

In the spiderbox 6000, the IPTV is not converted, it is an addition to the receiver courtesy of Blackdevil & Co.
and some linux boxes can have addons for it, called plugins , like 1channel and xbmc etc
Plus there are 'specialist' boxes too for IPTV, e.g. MAG250 & 254 - which I am finding to be very good, especially for sport in my case!! lol!!
