prime focus on h2h motor

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a prime focus dish with a h2h motor.

Other than potential mounting problems would the physics still be the same ie: the motor tracks the arc therefore so will the dish (in theory)

Or am I missing something!

not sure what you mean by h2h motor but i recently modified a prime focus polar mount to use with offset dish the physics will be the same but you will probably need to do a bit of modification some h2h motors will work fine with either type of dish the jaeger supermount is 1

yes i know it's horizon to horizon but it could be any type of mount more details about the mount and dish would help looks like the mount was used for offset dish and will now be used with the prime focus type the reverse of what i did

I just wanted to make sure it would track satellites ok i just did not want to miss something silly.

The prob with prime focus mounting an h2h is the dish not been able to angle up enough because of the actual motor.
So I am going to add a small arm to give extra clearance!

Also im sure i have seen these motors been used upside down (dark motor)

If this is possible it would be very simple to mount has anyone done that?

are we talking the diseqc type motors if so some are with the tube upwards and some are the oposite it should be simple to mount a prime focus dish to this type of motor as long as the dish face can point high enough

yeah mate it uses diseqc tube down just wondering if it can be used upside down obviousley reverse all settings ie: east for west and dif long and lats

I doubt is as surely it would mean that instead of an n shaped arc you would get a u shaped arc ?

if you see what I mean due to the limitations of keys on a keyboard !

yes, I have a Unimesh 2.4 m prime focus dish which came with a H-H motorised Ajak mount . I had this since 1997 . It has a combined c/Ku LNB connected to a Duo2 . the motor is controlled via a V2 36 volt DC box .
