STC6000HDPVR Firmware v2.12.18 issues

Yesterday I upgraded both our STC6000s to the latest firmware from the Icecrypt site - v2.12.18. Both receivers then appeared to work, but the front LCD screen froze on standby to the last received station rather than going to time clock. This morning I attempted to manually tune to a live transmission test and the receivers found the station but then froze before completing the process. (No channel found dialogue). After a power cycle restart, the channel had been saved to the channel list but selecting it again caused the receivers to freeze. Attempting a factory reset or restore to saved also caused the receivers to freeze. I finally downgraded the receivers back to 2.11.34 from USB and now all is as it was before the firmware update. Is this something anyone else has experienced (i.e. it's a duff firmware version) or is this just me?

Had this Fw on my 6000 since it was released and only had the very occasional lock up (once every 2-3 months if that) so no real issues and very pleased with my box.
