decent blind scan now available in OPENATV image

just thought id post a different thread specifically on blind scan.

the guys over at openATV have included a decent blind scan in their latest image

its the same as the VIX one on XTREND 9x00 image.

its not the ******* (s4tsc4n) plugin like that was in other images.

it allows you to set the SR on the scan.

i just did a side by side scan of 10e - the xtrend finishes a about 5 mins before, but it looks to do a thorough job and will obviously pull down any 4.2.2 feeds.

i imagine its only included on the images for hardware blindscan models, such as the premium plus, the me, and the minime

i just did an online update, and noticed there was an update to the blindscan plugin, just ran it, and then blind scanned 7w, seemed much quicker going through the first 4 steps, before the final channel scan.

cant beleive we finally have a decent blind scan for these boxes!

ive just done another side by side (run at same time) blindscan of 7w on both my azbox ME and my Xtrend....yesterday the azbox was 5 mins slower approx, today, and since the online update on the OATV image, the Azbox is now quicker by about 4 minutes!

RESULT!!!!


azbox: 757 channels found
xtrend: 708 channels found (weird)

just scanned 31.5e, took 5m 30secs, and found 11 channels.

xtrend is still scanning.

EDIT: but xtrend found 14.

but only 2 show on list, and unwatchable, i think it found them from nearby 33e.

what do u mean, u goto menu, setup, service searching, blind scan

yes i now were it is. i hit scan and its seems nothing happens.does it need to be set up? new numbers in . how long does it take to scan. thanks for reply

shame ive only got the earlier box think its just the premium,havent used it for ages ,does this just have the software blindscan ,as i remember,and which xtrend are you comparing it with manikm cheers
