Nearly bought one of these myself as they were really cheap. In fact, throw away cheap. I am sure they will sort you out but it is never as fast nor smoothe as any of us would want. Good luck.

In then end I spent too much on a Philips.

Sorry m8, I was thinking of Finlux...

    Is it finaland or finlandia?

7 months so still well in warranty?

I'd keep trying and if no joy threaten them (as diplomatically as your displeasure will allow) with trading standards.

Thanks for posting this as it adds another to the list of do not buys.

I had very good service from Finlux.
I ordered a TV from Finlux Direct then saw a higher specification model for the same price on their **** outlet.
I rang them and asked if I could change my order to that model. They answered immediately and asked me to email them to confirm I wanted to cancel my original order and then to order through ****.
I got an immediate email back saying my order was cancelled and my credit card payment would be refunded with 48 hours, or something like that.
They advertised free next day delivery if ordered before noon, on both their direct sales site and via ****. By the time I had ordered the one from **** it was around 3pm but my TV still arrived the following day.

This was last July and I have been very happy with it and their service, so I am surprised that the service has deteriorated so much in less than 12 months.

myself i will not buy from a cheep electronic company after my experience with lg.

its great they off low price items , but when they go wrong and it takes months to sort things out ?

il pay more on offset , for a better after service, if i need it.

When I was an admin on a pc forum there was a guy who used to do some sort of work for a government body, something like the factory inspectorate. This involved him going to different factories and he once said that back in the days of VCRs one factory he went to in Wales had lots of different cases for different makes, Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, all of them he said. They were all being assembled in the same place using the same components. I cant see it being much different now as lots of firms uses flat panels from China and Taiwan.
    h**p://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/tv-makers-2012-oversupply-201102271038.htm h**p://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/sony-taiwan-lcd-tv-panels-half-20101207950.htm
During the late 1960s and the 1970s I worked at Lucas Electrical. One day a group of lower management guys had a day trip to one of the other factories in Birmingham where they made car and truck batteries. One chap told me when he came back that they had cases for Exide, Finch, Oldham and Lucas of course, plus many more of the popular brands back then which all had the same inside bits as the others and al made in the same factory.
So sometimes I am not sure if brands carry as much weight now as I used to think. With globalisation who knows what is made where. I think VW showed it in a way with the build quality of the Mexican made Beetle compared to the German made one. Even things like Fender guitars show how brand loyalty isn't always rewarded with the USA ones being superior apparently to the Korean and the Japanese, craftsmanship and aged wood supposedly being better in the USA. I cant afford one so I cant say for sure.
Also you have to watch out for style over substance. ie Something can look like the best there is and cost a fortune but perform no better than a cheaper but not as aesthetic version. If you want to pay for the looks that's OK. You pay a lot of money for something like a Bang and Olufsen Hi Fi music centre back in the 1980s and it would look beautiful but any Hi Fi magazine or forum, if they had been around back then, would slag it off for the price as its performance would be matched by something at 2/3rds the price or less and significantly bettered by something like Marantz, Quad and NAD for a similar price.
