    Setup Guide for Spiderbox 6000HD

Patch Loading. Please note : Only use Spiderbox 6000HD Patches and Channel lists, all other model Spiderbox files are NOT compatible.

Download the latest Spiderbox HD6000 patch from the link below and copy it to a USB stick.
    https://www.satpimps.co.uk/forumdisp...p?579-Firmware

Place USB stick into Spiderbox and go to Menu / System Settings / Update & Backup / Image Upgrade, scroll down and select if in a folder, if not then side arrow to select the patch file from the right hand screen, press ok and wait for the file to load, Spiderbox will reboot when complete.
Connect Network cable between Router and Spiderbox.

Go to ‘Network’, scroll down to IKS and press register OK, will then show Connection Status as Connected and expiry date.
To go Wireless go to Menu / Multimedia / Network Settings right scroll to select Wireless, ok, enter your wireless Password then go to the floppy disc icon in the same text window to save.

    Satellite Setup

Go to Menu / Sat Settings, scroll down the left hand list and click OK to select all the Sats you want to scan, this will give them a tick.
Right arrow across, scroll down to Motor, right arrow to select ‘Diseq/Usals’, OK, Scroll down to Mode, select Drive to Satellite, scroll down to Set Location, OK, Scroll down Set Long then Lat then save, scroll to Go ‘Save Data and run’ thats it.

( OR - change the mode to Go to Satellite (its just other name for USALS) , and then Set location ,
Menu->Satellite settings->Right box change motor from NONE toDiseqc1.2/USALS-> OK-> change the mode to `GO to Satellite` and take it from there (setting the location etc ) and saving )

I will update and add to the guide as necessary, this is just to get you started out of the box.

addendum, for software to apply correctly, factory reset before and after loading new software, be sure to save your channel data first,

    reset code is 0000

    EPG Timer for Recordings.

You will first need a suitable USB storage device plugged into the front USB port, I use and can recommend a 2.5 inch laptop drive 160gb or 250gb fitted into one of the small USB caddies, these are self powered from the Spiders USB port.

A very nice easy new feature that works well, Up to 8 timer recordings can be set via EPG selection, first go to Multimedia / Recorder Settings / One Button Recording / On (this is for the remote red button start). Then set yourself a suitable ‘Default Recording Period’ then exit the menu. Make sure your time is set correctly in the System Settings / Time Menu.
Select a channel that you want to record, press the EPG button, right arrow and down to select the program you wish to record, yellow button ‘Book’ scroll down to ‘Timer Mode’ and right arrow to ‘Recorder’, ok.
You can also set up a Timer recording manually in the System Setting / Adv Timer Menu.

    thanks kempa82

    ------------------------

Has anyone found the sat button on the remote control unit? If so where is it?

check out the button with nothing written on it directly under the volume + - button

    --------------------------

    Softcam updating

By usb stick (formatted to fat32)

Menu - Software Upgrade - S/W Update - select the key file from right side and press ok

    Wait until the receiver reboots

    --------------------------

    backing up etc:-

    user database => channel list
    key data => keys
backup all => saves current patch including mac address so be careful do not download saved file to other receiver

Do not use the other options.

You need to do the save twice. First you need to save the filename by pressing the floppy disc Icon, and then when you have the filename stored you press ok on it (in the right side window.to save the S/w onto that file, same as you do to save your UserData.

    -------------------------------------

    more info from Hornet :-

    open menu on the box
    Go to system settings
    Scroll down to software update
    open it
    Click on S/W update
    Scroll down to usb root
Arrow right on your remote and press ok on the file you want to download
it will load and box will reboot
    Job done !

Its more or less the same if you want to load channels from box to usb only you use the s/w back up option in the menu, and you have to press red button to confirm your action or it will not do anything !

    OR

    Go to system settings
scroll down to software update and open it
scroll down to s/w update and open it
you will see user database and usbo
click on usbo using ok button on remote
scroll down to usbo (root) it will be highlighted in yellow, then use arrow right on remote,
<add new file> will be highlighted in yellow click ok on remote
a keyboard will appear, type in whatever you want to call the file ie chanlist 1.ssu, note it must have .ssu
Once you have typed file name hit red button to confirm, the file will now be highlighted in yellow, click ok on this file
you will then see a box asking if you want backup to file
you have to options an O and an X
using arrow left on remote click on O and that is it

    ------------------------------------------

    Blackdevil info

After creating your new file name(User Database) and confirming on the floppy disc icon
then you have to press OK again so your channel list can be saved .
