    LOst HD channels

Mate of mine has one of these and he says he's lost all his HD channels.
    Everything else is working fine.

    Said he gets this.....

    Tune Failed

    No data on Transponder

    timeout reading pat

He has an 800 SE aswell, when he attached that to the same cable it works fine.

I'm guessing it could be the tuner but it seems strange it's only the HD channels.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

those tuners are plugged in and can come loose or are known to fail

there are more modern tuners that can be bought that supposedly fix any issues so it is possible to change the part and fix tuner problems

Thought the same meself Ech...I know you can switch out the tuner, it's just a plug in, but before I say to him he needs to replace the tuner. Does this sound like something a tuner will do....ONLY the HD channels.?

is the six million dollar question

I would say the only way of knowing is swapping it and trying it out

ie:- the physical results would prove or disprove the theory , as in all science projects

I don't think so, first thing I would do is reflash, add a new satellite.xml and start a fresh scan.

Says he loaded up a new channel listing and it didn't help.
Haven't tried a new flash as far as I know.
But I know the 800 can bit a tetchy on this front, used to have one before I moved onto the SE.
Will get him to re-flash it.
