    Movable ground mount

Hi guys i have a 1.2m Motorised dish and wondering is it possible to have a non fixed ground mount. Say for example a barrel filled with cement or the like? I know a barrel could blow over so just wondering has anyone else come up with something? Something like the non penetrating roof mounts but home made!!

    Cheers

    Hi flickerrr
A large paving slab worked for me if in doubt put some extra weight on the slab, set the slab on sand.

my stand is raw bolted into 3 massive kerb stones laid on the ground in a triangle shape.its been like that for 25 yrs,but about 20yrs ago i did move it across the garden and it was just a simple matter of taking everything apart and getting a mate to help me move and lift the kerb stones one at a time to the new location for the dish, then just bolting everything back up again.

i made a few years ago a stand out of rsj's,i welded the smaller rsj's in the middle of the larger rsj so forming a x shape.in the middle of this i welded a 4ft steel pipe then attatched my motor and dish to pipe, nothing would blow this over it was real heavy, when i moved home i could not use at my new place so gave it scrap men, took 2 people to pick it up,i will check some of my old pics and see if i have a pic of it somewhere
