Are you using a Laptop or Desktop PC to carry out this procedure, as most people have found that it is better to use a Desktop PC.

doesnt matter if its connected or not, although its probably best to flash it with minimal attachments, so just a scart lead, power cable and a null modem cable

and use a windows xp pc with a built in com port, do not use any usb adapters with the null modem cable

just tested this loader in vista and xp (use xp if you can on a desktop pc)

firstly, start the loader in Xp (or in VISTA) which is download.exe from windows explorer

then tick the actual built in com port that your desktop pc is using (usually its com1 or com2)

then click left mouse button on CHOOSE FILE

having made sure you unpacked this bin file to the same folder as your loader, thats where it will be
(use the correct model repair bin file for your spiderbox)

left mouse click on the correct bin file

mine is a 9000 spiderbox so I got software is HD9000_RS232_0629.bin as the one being loaded

then start the download and switch on the spiderbox using its rear mains switch

on the other forum you mentioned linux, DO NOT USE LINUX !!

USE XP ON A DESKTOP PC WITH A NULL MODEM CABLE - NOTHING ELSE

NB :- YOU DO NOT NEED A BOX CONNECTED TO LOAD THE FILE INTO THE LOADER, IT WORKS ON ANY PC RUNNING WINDOWS EXPLORER ONLY (no com port needed, no null modem cable needed and no spiderbox needed, anyone can test the above up until actually starting the download in the loader)
