Hi All

I have purchased a 3500 today, nice little box, but I have one problem with it and I am wondering if any one else has come across the problem. The recordings I make on a USB stick (formatted NTFS) work fine in the box but when I try and play them on a PC, NO joy. They are recorded in the standard TS format. Any help would be much appreciated

For playing any kind of audio or video file mplayer is the ONLY tool: _http://www.mplayerhq.hu

You can open a terminal and type: "mplayer /path/to/your/FILENAME.TS" and off you go...

vlc good as well plays almost any file

not really an icecrypt question either, as clearly its a pc issue so should be in the pc section
the OP clearly stated it works ok on the icecrypt, then complains about the files not playing on the pc
no mention was made of which pc file player he was using, or the OS either

the issue of which box made the files is irrelevant, but posts tend to be posted in the sat box section on dozens of forums that I have seen,and not in the relevant pc section !

as for pc players, try gom player, KMplayer and vlc amongst others, or use a conversion program like spiderbox owners sometimes use

one point I did notice was the OP said the usb stick is formatted in ntfs, this I have never seen at all

usb sticks tend to be either fat, or fat32, usually the latter

Thank you all for your replies. Sorry for omitting my OS. I am using Windows 7 64bit. I am sure I am using the correct codecs as I manage to play the recorded TS files from my cheap T*sco tv, these have worked from day one in Windows Media Player. I thought that it was a bit strange to Format the USB stick in NTFS but quoting from the manual it says " If you want the recording up to 3 services format the storage device with NTFS or JFS file system". The decoder mounts the device ok and records a file. the problem is I am unable to play these in Windows Media Player, I get the Media player window, but the files do not load, just hang, they will play fine in the decoder. I wish to save some of the files to DVD. My apologies for posting in the wrong section, but I felt my question related to both sections at the same time, and I thought I would call upon the experienced Icecrypt users first

Here is the plugin called "fixit v9"

Once installed on your S3500 go into the plugin menu and start it.
It should then check your recordings and fix them so the .ts files can be played on external devices such as a PC.
Let us know how you find it.

Is it OK for the s4000 as well as the s3500?

Works a treat from my s3500 and s4000 to the PC running Windows 7 either direct or from a FAT32 USB.

Glad it works for you.
Just remember if your using the S4000 with the Hard drive in Journaled format that all recordings will be in 4Gb files so anything bigger than this will be split into multiple 4Gb files which might need renaming for external devices to recognize them.

Also GOM player will play the unfixed files on your PC without any modifications.
