What sat nav is easiest to get inexpensive maps for

    hello
I am thinking of getting a sat nav and to keep price down Id like to get a few inexpensive maps, like france and italy and of course uk too.
Doesnt need to be 100% up to date.
    Any ideas please

Have you looked at price of new satnavs?

    Report back when you have.

You need to have a read through the sat Nav section to see which models can still be so called patched with maps and then maybe source a secondhand one from the e of bay

    Hello all
My favourite sat nav is the old tomtom one XL with the sd card I have tried the new models but find them slower to lock on and harder to install new maps combined with an RDS and external GPS module in my opinion they are the best

New GPS with EU maps aren't that expensive.

If you're worried about keeping the maps updated the obvious is to get a smartphone. Almost all Android phones come with Google's maps and GPS software. You only need to pay for the data connection. These days when some many people have a smartphone with data already the incremental cost is zero.
