    Receiving HD TV

Hi, I,m in the N East of England. I have a Sony HD Freeview tv and a Sony Freeview PVR. The pvr is connected to the tv via HDMI lead. The par is connected to the aerial. Now,until recently, HD broadcasts weren't available in this region. But a few weeks ago, the pvr started to receive hd broadcasts. I rescanned the pvr and now get itv,bbc1, bbc and channel 4 all hd as well as sd.

But when I try and rescan the tv only it receives only the sd output. I dont understand why if the pvr can receive hd through the aerial the tv doesn't. Any suggestions please? Thanks.

    ok
Well try and plug the aerial directly into the tv and not loop through the pvr. This is just to test as some pvrs weaken the signal.

@enrico001u thanks for this; will try this when the boss is not watching tv.

@Aldo; thanks for this too. Will not be able to move aerial until Spring. Will try then.

    Thanks to all for posting.

Sorted now. Went to digitaluk site and after entering my postcode, I did a manual retune (full details given) and now getting HD on BBC1, ITV1, BBC HD and Channel 4.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.
