check the mac address is ok in the ip settings screen , make sure a valid ip has been obtianed from the router

reboot , turn off , count to 10 and turn back on again , then check if the 250mc mac code is in the login id

do not open new threads on the same topic as its confusing and doesnt allow continuity
your threads have been merged into one

if the display stays on f100 you need to repatch it with the repair file for your 9900 using the loader and a null modem cable , then patch it again with the latest patch using usb stick

if the f100 is seen briefly at startup/boot time, then its normal and should disappear quickly

F100 is always displayed when you power on the receiver. Only if it sticks on F100 you have a problem.

Do you see an IP address in the network settings, example 192.168.1.x

that will be in the mac section

hda5 , myself and others want you to check the box ip address as suppied by the router

its either all zeros ( not connected ) or it has something like 192.168.000.003 , with the gateway being 192.168.000.001

then below that will be subnet like 255.255.255.000

below that will be the gateway, like 192.168.000.001

then 1st dns which will be same as gateway by default

then 2nd dns which may be blank

than the bottom one with the mac address as per inside the box

so when asked for an ip , you are required to give the box ip , not its mac code

so in 4 hours you have been asked this ip address several times , and still not given it

    hope thats clear ?

mac address removed by me , never give that info out !!

the above seems ok apart from that , although if it was a netgear router you should try setting line 1 to say 192.168.000.101

    leave the rest alone

then try switching off for 20 seconds , switch back on and check if the 250mc and the latter part of your mac code (10 characters) shows as the net login ID in ETHERNET

if it does try using the Register once only

then reboot and check the greyed out login ID is present and it should say Connected in Connection status

if there is nothing in the Login ID , turn of networking completely using 1111 in the menu , reboot the box in Utility , then turn 1111 networking back on again

then switch off for 20 seconds , switch back on , let it settle for a minute and check again

ps , not sure where you got those dns lines from

    I use the google ones

    Primary is 008.008.004.004
    Secondary is 208.067.222.222

save your channel list and factory reset the box , then turn it off, 20 seconds later turn it back on and reload the channel list

then turn networking back on and fix the ip address etc as follows ( change from auto to manual )

    ip address 192.168.000.101
    subnet mask.255.255.255.000
    gateway.192.168.000.001
    1st dns.008.008.004.004
    2nd.dns.208.067.222.222

save it , then reboot the box and check again

as I stated earlier in post #12 , it originates from your mac code

when you see it , you will see 250MC and then the last 10 characters of your mac code , which you have already checked

are you reading ALL the info I am typing or just a portion of it ?

its the patch that uses it for the login , not the box , maybe you should factory reset it , repatch it , factory reset yet again , then do all the above once more

the date of the patch (15nov2011) indicates you have patched it , and is the only relevant part of that info

I dont own a 9900 so cannot confirm or deny the rest of that info

clearly the box has a mac code and the ethernet is working giving that mac code an ip address

its the patch that transfers that mac code into the login ID (the login etc isnt in the official firmware)

so clearly it is not a box fault, most people who buy something new always assume the box is faulty when things dont go to plan

the login ID issue was discussed in great detail last year in our ethernet forum here on satpimps , and elsewhere , with various tricks to try to get it to register

my thoughts are that you did not patch it correctly in the first place, with 2 factory resets , one before and one after patching , which is why I suggested starting again

once the code has transferred from the mac code into the login ID section , it can be registered and then will work ok

    Press Menu
    Go to Network Menu
You'll see a blue bar at the top that displays type: off
Use the < > buttons on remote to change to on and press ok.
Go to IP Setup press ok

    You should see IP address.

Tell us what the IP address is showing.
