    I am not dead!!!

Felt ill with stomach pains Thusday/Friday, so went to bed and stayed there. Felt very rough but at 21.30 all hell broke loose. Shaking , vomiting excruciating pain freezing cold. Wife called the ambulance. Brilliant guys asked me questions to establish the cause. I didnt know my name address, the date and thought it was 1978!! ( so whats different you may ask!) Straight in the A&E heart going overtime signs of attack. So they kept me in hospital till this afternoon for tests. Brilliant service wonderful Doctors and nurses. Apparently the infection in my gut suddenly got into the bloodstream and the body reacted by virtually closing down. Luckily the heart just reacted by going into overdrive that gave the impression of an attack. It is perfectly healthy. I am home and well but totally knackered, which doesnt help my muscular dystrophy. So if I have missed any replys to my posts or not pressed the thanks button when I should, my apologies.
I feel a very lucky guy.
My next letter will be one of thanks to the great hospital staff. Then I will rest my typing finger!

Glad your on the mend, unfortunately the NHS isn't, A+E seems to just about work but out patients service is in total chaos.

Budget cuts mean unless you arrive on a stretcher you will be sent home and told to book an appointment, which will be 3 or 6 months later, you could be dead by then.

The NHS is a national disgrace, my 85 year old parents have been very poorly served by it, a quack doctor who treated
my mother and made her a virtual cripple and got the sack and my father who had a bog standard hernia opperation by a temporary asian doctor got struck off because he nearly killed him by twisting his gut and stiching him back up.

The NHS is not joined up, its a collection of odd balls trying to cobble a service together with no back up, politicians make cuts with short term budgets in mind, the country pays much more in the longer term when patients condition worsen and very expensive treatment is required to fix what the budget cuts allowed to happen.

I'm afraid the NHS is a total disgrace, made so by the politicians.
