    Rip off PPI claim firms

    Did you know??

Her in doors has just won a claim against a well know bank for PPI, I will not go into figures, because she
would kill me, but, did you know that these s*** ppi claim firms are charging over 30% for anything that you have won for the claim,I just could not beleive it,in future though should we get into the same boat
I will phone around for the best quote.....the firm in question was cla*i*4refunds,when I phoned these
people they quite rightly told me that all the information was in the pack they sent me,what a rip off,

I tell you m8s shop around and dont take the first firms offer, shop around .....

@DCG was it easy to do?

How much money did you have to spend upfront?

I have had 2 loans and 5 Credit cards in the past 12 years all had PPI, even my old mortgage

Would love to get some £££ back

    @ Keith,

I went onto Martin Lewis's site to look,to be fair it can be done, looks a bit time consuming to me,but if he
won his case, give it a whirl m8....

Haven't done this myself but from what i understand
now that the banks have held thier hands up you just need to notify them in writing that you were misold ppi
    and on what grounds
and they have to look into your case and payout if you're entitled.

stay clear of all these claim firms, it has been well advertised that they're only in it for YOUR money

go take a look wasnt to hard the one i did , and if i remember correct its 30% plus vat so that in reality makes it 50% you will just hand over to them.
on his site they give you letters to print out and you just edit youre details in ,dont think it took me more than 10 min to print out the letter.
but my cut off time had passed and i was screwed.

do it yourself , it could give you a lot of money for the time you spend.

I have been told to ask if you believe the cut off time has gone, some claims have gone back to 1998, dont the the in's and out's of it but going to ask them all and see what i get back.

when i did my switch about 10/15 years back from a endowment to a repayment as things were starting to get bad , i was badly advised by one of them free solicitors , they tried to do the claim for me the bank turned it down with a letter saying i had 6 months to appeal via the fsa.

i have been told since if i had gone to the fsa i would have received something ,but its a 1 time only so my window is closed a long time back.

These rip off comapnies featured in the week on rip off britain on bbc1.

Some ask for money up front and one person got less back than the fee paid

I dont have any claims but I would be doing it myself.

I dont need someone else taking what is mine.

    Hi,
I got in the same boat, made the same mistake claiming From M*N* credit card in which I did not know I was
paying ppi, rec'd two letters form the company involed stating PPI was going to be paid back to me and also
a seperate claim for the CHARGES I INCURRED,I did not need ppi because I was paid when on the sick....

But this is the sickening fact,I have rec'd cheque from the company for PPI, but no mention of a cheque for
the charges incurred, needless to say I have been in touch with the company who were dealing with the claim
and have warned them that I also want a cheque for the charges from M*N*, and told them in no uncertain
manner,if I do not receive these monies I will be contacting the banking ombudsman
