You use your PC.
FTP is just a File Transfer protocol program, which allows you to view files, from your receiver, on one side, the right hand side, and files from your PC, on the left hand side.
To access your receiver, from your PC, you first need your receivers IP Address, which you can find in the receivers menu.
Menu, Setup, System, Network, select your connection, wither LAN, using a cable, from your receiver, to your router, or WLAN, if you set it up wirelessly, then click on Adapter Settings and note down the IP Address.
Next go to your PC and either start up the FileZilla program, if you've downloaded it, or use the VUCC, VU+ Control Centre, available here:

The username is always root, the IP Addres is your receivers, and the password should be left blank, unless you've already set up a password.
