    AZ Elite and jtag

    Tested everything else, no joy

So it is time to go to the root abd revive this box.

Anyone tried it ? Any ideas or tips before I start ?

Been doing some reading so I think it will be a not so easy thing but what the heck, I donīt need it just to collect dust

You need an TTL adapter... have you screw it up? was it with telecrap azup?

Well try to follow "RecoverAzbox" from Prg and Hectore and you will be on legs again..

    It saved me many times"!!!
Just read carefull where the contact rx to tx tx to rx goes from you TTL adapter to your azcrapbox. as it is a common mistake to make.

    Good luck ;-)

i tried and failed...maybe you will have better luck. The elite has a jtag header, so there wont be much soldering needed on the board. just the shorting of two solder points for "jtag enable" . I dont know anyone who succeeded with elite, a couple of us got openocd to see the box but could never get the box to HALT.

Yes, I noted the enable jtag pins so that will be sorted.
Been reading from a few russian sites so I feel prepared (lol)

I will report later on about my problems or success

it will halt but you will need to be fast with the keyboard to stop it,i have done 4
premium + recivers and one of them would not halt so i unplug the usb and pluged it
back in and that done it.

i think you are confusing enterring CRL-C in serial port to get to YAMON prompt.
We are referring to using the JTAG port where we are trtying to put the CPU in HALT state.

you can halt the cpu with yamon prompt, if you were in the US i would say mail it to me and i would fix it but that is not the case, it would cost more to
ship it than the cost of a new box, but if i can help let me know.

for all the hd azboxes stuck in booting or loading before you try to jtag your reciver try this first, load firmware 0.9.5020 or older on a clean usb stick
format in fat 32 now turn off your azbox with the power switch now put the usb in the azbox now hold down the menu button on the reciver and turn on
the power switch and keep holding the menu button until you see rescue mode, if you can get to rescue then you can load the firmware and recover your azbox
i dont know the reasion the older firmware works but it does work most of the time for me, so give it a try before you jtag your reciver.
