    Web If on icecrypt

is there a method of logging into the web interface of the icecrypt ? ( same as on a dm800 )

is anything needed for accessing the webif ? like a plugin ?

and if I were to login , what would I be looking to use it for ?

    streaming ?

    changing channel ?

    altering any settings ?

    setting recordings ?

    any other uses ?

    thanks

I can already use an ftp like flash fxp or fireftp or filezilla to access the folders , edit conf files and set attributes etc

what is the name ? I assume its root

what is the default password ( if any ) ?

is there an access port number ?

all I get using root and no password is this

    Welcome to HDPVR

I have seen the german plugin in the stickies but have no idea if its in english yet , or how to install the one from 19.6.2011

yep , I thanked him for the upload but that does not mean I tried it or knew how to use it

I have thanked him for it today and then opened this thread in the correct chat forum as file chat isnt allowed in the file sections , even though many members abuse it

so the point here is that I have asked about it after thanking him in that thread , which is the correct procedure

if we arent allowed to post after thanking somebody for files then what is the point of this chat forum ? maybe I should ask kink to close it down ?

maybe members should look less into motives and stick to what the help forums are for ie:- helping each other

2 weeks ago I thanked a pilot for getting me home from turkey on his A321 airbus , but I have no idea how he did it , LOL

once you install the plugin, you just type in the IP address of the box mate.

you can edit timers, change channels (albeit laggy)

    as i've said before, with the icecrypt you dont need ftp , you can use UNC paths;
    example:

\\192.168.0.1\var (or whatever im not in front of it) this can be used to delete, change plugins such as MCAS or whatever.

the web interface is a bit buggy from memory, i gave up on it, but it was several versions ago.

PS dont shut down the forum, as i wouldnt know what to do with myself otherwise.

and i thought you was a computer man...

A UNC path describes the location of a volume, directory, or file. The format for a UNC path is \\server\volume\directory\file and is not case-sensitive...

    so instead of needing to FTP - you can just get to the volume you need easily from any laptop\computer on your LAN, but typing in;

\\192.168.0.1 (or whatever your icecrypt is) followed by \path\to\whereyouneed

    and hit return!

    You make a valid point.
I was simple amused that you gave a "Thank you" but didn't know what it was for, or how to use it thats all.
Anyway I must make amends for my cheap comment and explain the FortisWebIo for anyone who is interested.

You install via the standard "plugin" method on Icecrypts.
That is to place the plugin folder onto the root directory of a USB stick and then insert the USB stick into the Icecrypt. Highlight plugin in the pop up window or if the pop up fails to appear use transfer data from USB option to highlight the plugin and then press the red button to load it.

Once loaded go into the plugin menu and use the green button to start it.

You can now use the ip address of the Icecrypt in your browser to control the Icecrypt via the network.
Via the use of a Remote UI it allows you to set timers, view the EPG and change settings and channels etc.
It does not stream video though.
It's a little laggy but functional.
    The English conversion works well.
I found it to be a very useful plugin and not the least buggy.

ok , thanks for the replies , I had an idea what it may be for given there are similar plugins for my dm800 , just wanted more clarification beforehand from users

I have given the thanks even though I havent tried any of the above , but should I do so then I will follow the instructions given here as they werent with the plugin

thanks again , no matter if I try it , or not
