    Just to add.
Bolted a KA lnb along side my ku lnb on a 1.3 prime focus dish and receive the Irish service from 9E here on the west coast of south Wales.
If I recall lnb cost around £30 delivered in March 2012.
People further east are unable to get the service due to an interfering spot beam on the same frequency --- I must be lucky at my location being just that bit further west.
    Regards.

Satwyn, thanks for the quick reply, and pictures would be good for all us wanting to try this out. I was thinking of ordering the DirecTv SWM 3 LNB. This may be a problem to mount, will try to get more info.

the swm 3 is not what you need either the hughes or tooway would be a better option these are known to work the tooway needs 24-30v to power so that's why i use the hughes also the tooway is an all in one rx tx type and can't be seperated so if you are interested in receiving the signal the hughes ka is your best option at this time i use mine with no feedhorn or polariser with signal at 70% quality 70% on a 1.2m in wales you would need to seal the front of the lnb from rain ect

Are you by any chance Irish?
I ask, because at the end of the day you wont gain much by getting Saorsat (Irish news and current affairs).
Other than that it's all UK and USA programming....Eastenders with a commercial break anyone?

you could first try the channel master 1.2m that's what i used the lnb was mounted vertical not horizontal as previously stated make sure it's the right way up all you need is some longer screws to attach to the lnb holder frequency display should be 11.185 no matter if 14 or 18v symbol rate 25000 also i used only the lnb no feed it seems that there will be another spot beam same frequency over england so there could be some problems when that beam is active

    Fair enough.
I live in Ireland, but I haven't a clue what Shortland Street is.
Can't remember the last time I watched Irish tv!

Hi guys' just looking at the posts bout Ka band lnb's - and thought you should check out
********************* - saorsat wont be fully op til Oct 2012, by then you may not get the overlap in Wales. If your in a good signal area in Wales, why not try upgrade DTT aerial (SaorView) its on UHF signal nowwhich is stronger than old VHF. Best info you will find is on *********************

Hello all, consumer LNB's are seemingly soon to be available. For now most of us who want to get an early view are using modified hughnet LNB's from the US. See details of the DIY LNB at,
