    Question maybe a daft question?

    Hi.

    Am curious.
As an electronics engineer, friends give me problamatic boxes to repair/rebuild for them from time, to time.
    Lucky me huh
Anyway. I got a so called original DM800 to look at, that was in a continuous reboot loop.
I noticed that the SIM card holder had been got at, and was cracked.
Whilst repairing it, I noticed that the SIM version, was Sim 2.01!!
Am assuming in lieu of that, that it is in fact a clone box??
What Sim does an original DM800 have i ask???
I flashed SSL76.nfi to the flash, then a Sim 2.01 Image, and it's all happy now.

    Any thoughts lads??

    Cheers...

If it has a Sim 2.01 card, almost sure that its not an original box.
The original box takes any image that you load into it.

I don't know what the actual sim is, but on the genuine Dm's they have a blob of glue over them and the sim holder so you can't take them out.

    Very very interesting my friend!!
Perhaps that's why the Sim caddy was cracked, to get at the card.
I hate it when I get a box to look at, after someone has had a go, Lol
I repowered it up last night, and it's rebooting in a perpetual loop again!!!!
There are some references to that on Google. I feel sorry for the poor sod, so i'll have another go.
It looks like a standard surface mount cellphone sim caddy to me, so maybe I can rob one out of a busted phone?!!

Thanks for the interesting reply tho

Since you already know that it has a sim 2.01 card.
Just flash a modified image into it.
These are normally called patched images.
You will find few on the net by ramiMaher.
Make sure it has the same boot loader as the one of your box or simply reload the bootloader after loading the patched image.
This should get the box out of the loop.
