It is now a known fact that much can be added and run on the flash, but I have found two things. It is necessary to keep a firm eye on Memory used and be careful, and it does vary in used quantity. It is very easy to slip over and then all crashes. By the way - can anyone explain to a thickie like me why the amount left seems to vary emormously while the box is on?Am I missing a use for swap here? I also find the HDD very useful for all backup and in progress images as the 8000 is so quiet and unflustered unlike the old 7000. Cheers - Brain

yes - set up a swap file - mine is on the CF card. Don't use the hdd -it will always be running!
