    Mystery with Old Tunners Solved

After i sayd that old version of tunners didnt work with MEO HD sat high frequencies S2, A friend from another forum ( @ MBOX ) as been curious about the Old DVB-S2 tunners not working good with high signal frequencies and the new ones did , and he as found the reply.

Just place a resistance in the specific Spot.

    See the picture

If RA3 & RA4 are marked "333" then their values are 33000 ohms (33k). Not 33 ohms. If they were 33 ohms then they would be marked "330".

Also, these are not regular resistors. They are resistor arrays. Each part contains 4 resistors.

what our friend mbox said was "just change the two rulers of resistances" which means that each ruler has four resistors as shown in the photo. value 333 may have been wrong. may even be 33 ohms

Yes, maybe the text on the photo that says "333" should have been typed "330".

    Sorry, my mistake

The correct value is 33 ohm
The text on the picture should have "330 "

if the RA3 and RA4 is 000 then you have old tunner
if RA3 and RA4 is 330 then you have recent tunner

Good question, I know there were issues with the older tuners for the E2 drivers, so will there be a workaround?

If not, where is a good source for these Resistor Arrays?

i dont know about you guys but, i had old tunner and even that it worked very well with original FW, since o placed E2 Fw in the box, the problem apeared in E2, no MEO sat 30000Mhz Frq. All screen pixelate.

I lost 30€ and bought a new one, problem solved.

It can be solved by software but i dont think the team is going to lose any time with it. The first versions of E2 the picture was good with old tunner but, after some modifications on drivers to acomodate Premium box and elite box newer recivers, the old one started to give the pixelization on screen.

I asked many times for the team to check it but with no sucess. So i bough a new one.

Well for me the Tuners are twice that! And there's no way I'm sinking any more money into this box, except a few quid to change the Resistor Arrays, now anybody got a good source?

    hi,

thanks for the info moicas and mbox.So if i going to change the two RA3 and RA4 resistors to 33 ohm everything gonna be fine?Because i checked one sheet made by opensat and it says that i have to change te resistors and Additionally connect 33pF GND to R27 .
Is it important or only for diablo cam?
    thanks!!

I hope that could be a solution for that, since in past versions of RTi E2 images you had no problem with it!
Maybe is just a little thing to adjust, and team miss that until you notice this post

Im sure that it is a Software bug, because in Original FW the tunner works good.

I dont think that it is a bug easy to solve, because it would be solved by now.

Anyway, i running a new tunner a few month ago and with it no problems here.
