Hi,

Please find a new version of JaZUp your Java based application to upgrade your Azbox HD to E2 and downgrade to official firmware.

JaZUp is a Java based AZbox upgrade to E2 / downgrade to official firmware application.

Please take the time to read the full user guide provided in PDF format.

For end-user willing to run JaZUp on Mac OSX or Ubuntu, you will need to set the execute attribute to jazup.sh (chmod 755) to be able to launch it.

For Windows user, once you have at least Java Runtine Environnement (version 5) installed you can just double click on jazup.jar like any other software.

JaZUp always flash the kernel, so you don't have an option to flash or not the kernel.

@Format Extendend Partitions: you can decided not to format your extended partition, this option is
useful only if you upgrade your Azbox from E2 to E2.

If I upgrade E2 to E2 ,I have to reformat the extendet partition?

Hello,

On a standard DOM the size is 256MB, all this space is taken by E2.
If you install E2 on a bigger DOM or on USB or on HDD, only the first 256MB will be reserved for E2, the rest is free space that you can use.

So all the data space over 256MB are assigned into an extended partition.
This partition allows you to safely store some data.
For example: Picons / plugins / emu / ....

This extended partition is automatically mounted under /media/cf (why because there is no CF reader in the AZbox so we decide to use it for extended data and this is a standard location for E2 to look for the Picon for example).

So if you upgrade from E2 to E2 on an official DOM (256MB) this doesn't matter since there is no room for extended data.

But if you use another device or greater DOM, you can choose or not to loose the data that you place under /media/cf

The very first time when the partitions are newly created extended partitions is always formatted but when it exist you have the choice to format it or not.

I will include this explanation in the user guide.

I hope that it is clear for everybody now what extended partition means.

I guess that you are not connected to your AZbox but to another device on your network.

Which firmware are you supposed to have in your Azbox?

I use AZbox IP Find and my IP is static and same as in AZbox Premium
firmware is 0.9.4890
AZ is on wired net but notebook is on wireless

Put your usb stick in azbox and type this...

and the last...

Many thanks for your bug report! I can reproduce it so we are working on it.

Can I ask you a last test, in telnet type:

echo "AZBOX" > /DISK2/hostname
vfd_display -td210 REBOOT

This will set a hostname and reboot your Azbox.
Then please test again JaZUp and tell me if this time it works for you.
