.mkv 1080p DTS plays perfect but "seek" is not working, it freezes. the rest is perfect.
in .avi seeks works fast and accurate.

Just woke up after the night-shift just to test this newborn baby

So let's go:

* Installation goes fine as usual.

* After 1st boot i tried to change a/v setting from menu and i lost HDMI signal. After reboot Box is stuck on "elite" on VFD. Had to modify bootup file as Massimo suggested (Grazie Massimo!! :respect-060

. After that all works fine

* Maually installed 3C Cam 2.2.1 to test my favourite HD channels.

* SD channel usual normal quality
* HD Channel: Great improvement!! Watchin ManU-Arsenal on SlyIt (1080i) and i got no more image degradation nor logo flickering.
Same good quality on HD Suisse (720p)

* Media Player: tested my usual avis and mkvs. No problem at all.

Mounted my PC folder whit cifs: OK
But if i try to mount a second folder i got a segfault error...

I can't get multi channel audio out of the box (both HDMI and SPDIF). What do i have to set to get 5.1 audio?

Yes it is.

I do not understand why only I have noticed a lack of quality on HD channels.
I also rechecked 2 hours ago during lunch time changing from SCART to HDMI and even improving, quality is a little higher than SCART.
I made my tests on HD channels (Discovery HD, National Geographic HD, Cinema HD) from SlyIt provider.
I've setted "em8634dvb.ko" module with "HDMI_1080p50" parametr (as reported from the first post).
This evening or tomorrow when I have some time I'll try to change this with other parameters.

Is there an objective way to evaluate the quality of an image?

Hi Massimo,

No, i don't think the evaluation of IQ is objective.
For me , i.e. there's a big improvement on SlyIt channnels comparing to 1.0.2 and i'm not using default skin (HDMI_720p50)

BTW,
did you get Dolby Digital out of the box?
I can't get it nor on HDMI nor on SPDIF.
My extrnal Amplifier says the sound is PCM. What have i to modify to have RAW sound out of the box?

I confim Cirio: My External Amplifier (Marantz) say: sound is PCM; I have tested only with SPDIF: Rti Core 1.0.3 on Premium Plus.:Chevy_anim:

I first post this report in wrong thread (1.0.2). For whose who have not seen it I post it again... sorry...

All tests on Azbox Premium +...

- Applied New Audio FIX

It seems to work. I've the first time perfect sound! No distortion after zapping

UPDATE: sometimes the sound is gone after zapping and I cannot bring it back because resolution button has no function. I have to switch to another channel and then switch back to get sound. :(

- Interlace/Deinterlace FIX

Picture quality is perfect on HD and on SD!

- CPU 30% usage FIX

It works! The gears doesn't appear. CPU is most time idle.

- Better VFD Support

Hmmm. While booting the VFD shows still strange characters.

- Fixed System clock

Yeah!!! Seems to work perfect!

- Volume UP/Down fully fixed

Works almost perfectly. The only inconsistency is at 100% Volume. If I push volume up at 100% the sound somtimes will fall silent.

- Better overall stabillity

I can confirm very good stability! I have no crash while normal operation (watching TV, zapping...)

- A lot of changes on Enigma 2 ( A/V Settings EXPERIMENTAL , Welcome w_izzard )

After installation I did a factory reset. After this I got a green screen and have to exchange w_izard.py and w_izard.pyo. After that the w_izard worked well!
Btw: nice picture from Azbox RCU

AV Settings does not work. After changing the resolution the screen becomes black and I have to reboot. I have to delete /etc/videomodeaz to bring picture back.
Changing aspect ratio has no effect.

- Fixed Multimedia ( MKV, AVI ) now OK

Cannot test MKV and AVI...

BUT... *.ts (recordings from original Azbox FW) will NOT play. That's a pitty because my HDD is full with such recordings (and I suppose not just my HDD...)

Another bugs:
- If I navigate in the provider list I cannot put a provider into my favorits or into a bouquet. The selection is not in the channellist menu so I cannot do it. UPDATE: problem is solved. It was configuration issue in expert settings... my fault...
- EPG still not working completly. After setup CrossEPG in the same way as on my dream800 I have some EPG Information only. My Dreambox with CrossEPG shows my EPG for every channel.

In summary this firmware is a great step forward!!!! Keep it up guys!!! :bravo-009:

Did some more tests:

Zapping between HD and SD channels seems no more problematic (lot of chrashes on 1.0.2)

Stand By working great (lost of HDMI signal on 1.0.2)

If i may, i will suggest as next step the Aspect Ratio management.
Many channels are still broadcasted in 4:3 sowe have to use the tv function to set correct A/R.
Even on Movie Player many movies are displayed whit good quality but distorted.

Quality is pretty good/perfect comparing to original firmware or dm800, it is better.
But i notice that there is a little shaked image,i can notice more this, when watching channel logos and straight lines. For example TVnews, and in previous image this wouldn't happen.
Is there a way to activate quality like previous, so i can have a perfectly still image? Or...what is happening?

I just need to know two things to change to RTi images because I need them every day. If someone can help me about it, I appreciated:

1) I use internal reader because I have my own card and dont have any more other receivers or card readers :( So is really necessary for me that is working! But still doesnt in this new version, right? (since dont come in release notes).

2) About RF modulator. Is it working or is possible change the RF channel?? Because I use a RF modulator of a one old video that I have, using SCART and HDMI outputs at same time! Is that possible with this image??

Any HD chanells still don't work (no picture, sound cutting) on 0.8W Thor (UPC) - for example 11843 V strenght of signal 93% and quality 85% - on original firmware 0.9.5020 is OK.

I can confirm this. I have too npticed some shaked image. Specially at the bottom and top of the image... The quality is good but still...

No need for fresh install, You can still access receiver by telnet and ftp, and to edit file /etc/init.d , fix is posted by morphius_x on first page.

I confirm. Canal + Film HD (Canal Digital) is worst, the image jerks twice a second, making it unwatchable. I have 1080i50 as an output resolution.
