this joins the bits together, cant remember for sure but i think you might also need something like convertx to change to avi or other media file.
I did go all through this months ago but it was such a drag I gave up.
You can convert the files on the USB from the TM ones to DVD with any of the free multi file converters available on the net. They will then run on the laptop. It takes ages for each file so I just scart my TM to my DVD recorder now and make a disc for the laptop.
Having said that a USB (I have a 16gig ) is a handy thing to use as a recorder.
No need to convert files download KM Player, open the folder on the USB stick with the player then open the TRP file this gives playback of the recording.
Hopes this helps
Often wondered if there was a player for TRP. files. Never seen it mentioned before, thought more would be looking for something like this. Why TM records to TRP I have often wondered?
I will give this a try.:applause-003:
You can play the .TRP files with GOM player. (A pc media player from GOMlabs)

Just tried an HD TRP file on KM player. CAnt seem to cope with HD. Had same problem with VLC.
I had Gom player for my HD video camera as VLC couldnt cope. Shame I got rid of it. I may try it again if I cant get KM to work with HD.
(I have a new Toshiba 3gig laptop)
I will try KM with an SD file.
I don't think GOM player will play back HD recordings either, just SD. When the recording is HD it just plays the sound.
The KM plays HD from my video camera? Shame about the TRP. Is this just Technomate or do other SPBs use TRP?
I am using my video converter now to change a 1.3 gig HD TRP. to WMV. Its done 11% in 33 minutes. So not really practical for everyday use.:beatdeadhorse5:
Actually took 4 hours 13 minutes!! Plays OK
I find "Media Player Classic" gives the best picture of all the players for SD.
I seem to remember that downloading movies from the net and trying to play them via USB on the TM was also a problem. What files will the TM play????
