    Spiderbox set up

I have just bought a Spiderbox to replace my ageing Technomate and was hoping to instal it myself. As I have a Sony Bravia Tv, Sky HD box and Dvd recorder as well,:dupe: do I need to connect the HD lead to the Sbox rather than the Skybox to get a picture as presently nothing is happening. I have conctd the scart and aerial. As a doddery OAP technology doesn't come easy. Thanks.

on mine I connect both to my sony bravia as it has 4 hdmi inputs

having said that you could use just the scart as you did before although you wont get HD quality that way , but I would set it up using scart and then when ok swap to hdmi instead , and leave the sky box using HD too

assuming your tv only has 1 hdmi socket ( some do only have the 1 ) then either use a hdmi switcher , or use the component input on the tv for either the sky box or the spiderbox at 720p

but initially you should use the same setup as before until its all working

thread moved to the spiderbox forum where it should have been placed

plug everything you got in here, numbered ports overide or just leave all in standby and the one you switch on will work,as ech says no HD through scart and not many sly HD boxes have component as hollywood kicked off over HDCP issues

Asda do an auto-swtching 2 into one that is quite reasonable and reliable, has a manual Button on the Connector, if it doesn't switch Automaticaly (ie you dont switch off the current device before switching on the required device)...certainly cheaper than buying a new Bravia , mine only has 2 HDMI inputs !
