A bridge connects to your router wirelessly and the spider is connected to the bridge by means of an ethernet cable, will not work by means of a dongle.
Used a 3 Network dongle with an Edimax 6200 3G router, works ok but can cause the receive to log on and off. I think this due to the dongle not maintaining a connection.
So it is possible but I have only tried with a router.

Hi Kes, i use a buffalo ethernet converter which i found to be a real pain to setup but then i wouldn't be the best around that type of thing. Don't know offhand what it cost but will be able to tell you tomorrow when i get a look at the invoice.
Cheers
no problems m8.
are they just another type of spiderplug then?
tramsmitter and receiver plug into mains socket with ethernet cable to router and ethernet cable to receiver?

kes
vonets do one mate costs £25-£30.
Alternatively you can use a wireless game adaptor (aka bridge). I use a netgear WGE111. There are a couple on fleabay with a couple of days to run.
You'll probably pick one up for 15-20 quid.
