E2 - For people stuck with Geeko :P on the VFD

    Hello,

I have done some test and for people that get stuck with Geeko :P in the VFD it is because you remove the USB stick after the first step - Upgrade Screen - 1. upgrade USB.

You need to leave the USB stick after the reboot in this step, if you remove the USB stick you will get stuck into Geeko :P mode.

So for people with the problem, power off your Azbox, connect back the USB stick FAT32 formatted with Enigma 2 patch.bin file into the Azbox.
Power it up and you will see that you will have Rescue Mode in the VFD and then you will have the IP address received from DHCP.

Then start Azup enter the IP address and press update button.
Azup will tell you when to remove the USB stick.

At the very first reboot (without USB stick) you will again have Geeko for a while just wait (I know it seems always long when we wait) if nothing happens then try to press Menu key.

For people that have change the DOM with an SD or CF adaptator it is better to power off and power on the Azbox rather than just reboot.

    Hope this help.

    Pr2

how long I should wait after upgrading to e2 and the first reboot without usb stick? 30 minutes still geeko:P and no e2.

    Look what I've done:

    1 . Load this patch.bin ( Enigma 2 ) file on FAT32 formatted USB Memory Stick (done)
    2. Turn Off Your AzBox HD Device, put USB Memory Stick inside and Turn on AzBox HD Device (done)
    3. Follow the procedure USB Update on the screen, after process is finished, remove the USB stick from the AzBox HD Device, and let AzBox HD to Reboot (done)

now I see "geeko :P" on vfd and nothing happens.

    4. After reboot is finished, You should be in Enigma 2 AzBox HD Running state (hell no)

You need to reboot Azbox with the USB stick in place with enigma2 patch.bin, and then run AZUP to reinstall the patch.

I.P should be in VFD so you can run AZUP.

did I get you right I should put e2 stick back to azbox and complete these steps?

    PHP Code:
Transfer file update Located in RESCUE FILES folder to the /tmp folder and add CHMOD 755 permissionby clicking on file with

    right click
Properties , and than put 755.

    Transfer file
backup_kernel Located in RESCUE FILES folder to /MMP folder.

    -----

    2. Use puttyattached to this folder to conect on Your AzBox HD running E2 by telnet.

    and
    run this commands :

    ./
    update /MMP/backup_kernel

    Wait until process finish
    , and that is all
and after finishing that I'll reboot and get e2 working?

Do you see your IP on the VFD?

When you get "RESCUE MODE?" confirm it with OK button on remote. Then you will get IP. Then on Windows start AzUP and write that IP and click update.

I dont have file named AzUP. what I do have is Filezilla which is FTP client and Putty which is SSH/TELNET. I believe that AzUP is just a zip for these files. Now where can I get that update button which you talking about? As far as I understand it you guys are telling me how to reverse back to original firmware. I can do this.

What I want - is to upgrade to E2 kernel. When I'm doing this I getting stuck with geeko message

    Have you downloaded E2_1.0.21_elite_premium.rar?
AzUP setup.exe is inside the archive.

AZUP came in the original enigma2 zip file

When you run it, enter your box IP as shown in AZ VFD, then ensuring the USB with E2 patch.bin is still in the Azbox, start AZUP.
    That will install E2.

It's the first public E2 Beta test with video not working.

All it needs is the latest driver which is now released.

doh! I 've done this already!! I dont have azup.exe. the only explanation is that my anti-virus removed this file.

DO YOU HAVE AZUP.EXE ON YOUR PC AND WHERE IT IS?

    @tx0
Download and un-rar the file "E2_1.0.21_elite_premium.rar"
You will then see "AZUp setup.exe".
Run this file and it will create AZup.exe in the folder of your choice.
