Do I have to install anything on my 8000 in order that I can access webinterface? webcontrol works fine but when putting my IP address into browser page cannot be found. Many thanks - Brain

Not your ip address: ip address of your DM 8000. Are computer and DM 8000 in the same IP home address network range and same subnet mask as your router?
- 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
- 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
- 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255
Hi Giga
Thanks for the response - I have been in dialogue with oldfart all w/end only to find that there was a break in my network lead. No - I didnt put my address in - I put in the DM IP on the oled screen but when putting this address into the pc it just says page cant be found. I have followed all the instructions to the letter about 200 times but still cant get the webinterface. Is there anything I need to load onto the DM or should I unistall and reload secondstage in case of a fault? All the rest is working perfectly - just a real sense of frustration that I cant trigger this final one point!!Box downloads,is online, all running well but this final step eludes me and I now Ive solved the lead prob I cannot see what else I can do!! I have even tried both a PC and a mac and all on are the same home network/router. !92 168 1 1 is router subnet is 255.255.255.0 and other Ip addresses as well as the DMs communicate. Many thanks - Brain

don't know anything on dreamboxes. somewhere could be a setting to enable or disable web access from outside & perhaps a port setting where to access? webpage access is normally 192.168.1.1:80 or 192.168.1.1:8080 could be another port then change :80 to that port used on dm8000.
Other issue could be your computer or router security settings (firewall, ...) not allowing traffic.
Thanks M8
Webinterface is enabled on the DM and I am following the instructions here and on the official site to the letter. I will check firewall then and see if windows 7 is being its usual crumby self but find it hard to think that the mac would play silly wotsits - it all looks so simple on the web pictures. Thanks - Brian
if cccam running web interface and enabled and listening port not changed: Http://192.168.1.???:16001/
check router for blocked traffic between computer/laptop and dreambox

Hi Giga
No - cccam not installed yet since I am stuck at this initial flashing point which is a bit like unlocking an Iphone - once done all is possible, but since it is even on the official DM website there is nothing sinister - just frustration that everyone else seems to have done it and I get blocked getting to the interface. Will switch off firewall and see if that helps - its only a backup lappie!!Nope - turning off Firewall doesnt help!! Brain

Hi brain,
As you have stated you have setup the webinfo via the plugin, the next step is to rerun your network wiz@rd and make sure you have a fixed IP.
After you have rerun the wiz@rd carry out a hard reset of your box.
check router! clear router logs. try access to dreambox. check router log for blocked traffic from computer to dreambox, if blocked traffic: make a rule allowing traffic between computer IP and dreambox IP
Check router/modem if used RJ45 sockets are in the same segment! Sometimes these ports have IP addresses sitting in other IP address segment (ADSL2, VDSL modem/router with digital TV (STB television over ethernet)
192.168.1.1-255
192.168.2.1-255
Thanks Giga
Will try what you suggest but have checked router and access is open and allowed and access point registered on the DM. But I will have to close this thread since I have opened two on similar things. Many thanks - Brain. oops - how do I do that?
