You can buy an external card reader such as a Smargo, or Omnikey.

Uk card works fine on internal. Only, some people find it gets too hot for their liking so they go with an external reader. No one as far as I know has reported any damage from using it internally despite it getting very hot.

I know it's an old thread but can someone tell me the process to date for using a sly card in the slot on the 800 please? I have the use of the remainder of a cancelled contract (for about three weeks).

The 800 is in my caravan sat on a cooling fan but will not be networked. Any addons will have to be done before I move out of my house at the end of this week to live in the van for a week or so.

Using Nemesis 2.3 SVN (090) on CCam 2.2.1.

    thanks.

With CCcam you need the boxkey, with the latest Oscam you don't need the boxkey.
Other than that the card will work with 2.2.1 and the default CCcam.cfg but no premium channels

With CCcam you need the boxkey to unlock premium channels such as movies / sports .

otherwise you can watch all other channels with CCcam .

Dave is the dreambox at the van now ?

If not then try and set it up before you go, do you need movies/sports ?

I'm off work all week if you need any help, you have my contact details.

Just had a thought why don't you take the sky digibox with you and you wont have to worry about the dreambox.

Thanks for the helpfull replies one and all.:respect-048:

Yes Keith, the 800 is in the van and I did think about using my lads slybox in the van but thought it would be less hassle to use the slot in the 800. Thinking on, it is more prudent to use the slybox anway I will just have to find room for it.

In the meantime I am still trying to network the 800 in the van but I am having a few problems in deciding which way to go about it. The dongle seems the best bet but can be dodgy reception in a field in Wales.

Just spoke with the boy and he is going to use my 8k until the end of the month and I will use his slybox in the van until the modifications on the new house are done.
